NIGERIA: THE Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi, on Wednesday escaped attack by suspected armed hoodlums who invaded the installation ceremony being performed by the traditional ruler.

GatewayMail gathered that the hoodlums allegedly besieged the ceremony, held at Atile Ele, to prevent the event from holding and also attack Oba Akanbi.

According to reliable sources, the youth, who were armed with dangerous weapons such as axes, pistols, stones, sticks and charms, surged forward to descend on the monarch, but were prevented by policemen at the event.

It was further learnt that an elder of the town, Chief Mojirin of Iwo, was allegedly kidnapped by the angry youths by Wednesday evening for his loyalty to Oluwo.

The angry youth had claimed that the traditional ruler cannot install the new chief, claiming that Elee compound is not for Oluwo while many of the actors were not inhabitants of the compound.

But, the men allegedly acting on the directive of Chief Abiola Ogundokun, axed one of the policemen, Sergeant Ikuesan Taiwo, who sustained serious injury on the head.

An eyewitness told GatewayMail that the traditional ruler pleaded with the policemen not to be provoked by the humiliation of the youth, who later ran away.

Before fleeing the scene, the youth, who also threw stones and pebbles at the first class traditional ruler, had insisted that Oba Akanbi cannot install Sooko.

He stated that one of the hoodlums named Saheed was apprehended and has been detained by the police for interrogation.

Similarly, the police have declared three persons, Rilwan Afolabi, often called Afoo, Cology and Arolu, wanted on the alleged attempted murder, kidnapping and public unrest.

Sources at the palace stated that the hoodlums were allegedly sponsored by Ogundokun, who was recently dethroned as the Otun Balogun by Oba Akanbi, and had threatened to make the town ungovernable for the first class ruler.

It was also claimed that since the arrest of Saheed, the erstwhile Otun Balogun had attempted to free the suspect while also urging the police to halt further search for the youths, particularly their leader.

However, it was learnt that despite the disruption, the traditional ruler installed Prince Taofeeq Adedimeji Tadese as the pioneer Chief Sooko of Elee Royal House of Adagunodo ruling dynasty.

Thanks for your interesting article. Other thing is that mesothelioma cancer is generally brought on by the inhalation of dust from mesothelioma, which is a positivelly dangerous material. It can be commonly observed among individuals in the engineering industry who have long exposure to asbestos. It is caused by moving into asbestos covered buildings for long periods of time, Genetic makeup plays an important role, and some folks are more vulnerable to the risk when compared with others.
