Police nab three Lagos residents for stealing MTN mast in Ogun

NIGERIA: POLICEMEN in Ogun State Police Command have apprehended three suspected vandals who allegedly stole the mast belonging to telecommunication giant, MTN, in Ode Remo in Remo North Local Government Area of the state.
The Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, said that the suspects include Balogun Lukman, Sunday Kayode, and Atanda Abiodun, all residents of Lagos State.
Oyeyemi, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, said that the suspects were arrested last April 27 by police patrol team of Ishara Division led by the Divisional Police Officer, Yusuf Taiwo.
According to the police image maker, the suspects came with a blue colour Ford bus to commit the crime
“The suspects, who came with a blue colour Ford bus with Reg. No OYO NRK 842 XA, were sighted at the mast around 02:00am with the vandalized parts of the mast, which include three heavy duty batteries and small cutters,” Oyeyemi said.
He explained that on sighting policemen, the suspects fled, but were pursued and arrested while two others escaped.
Oyeyemi further said that the Police Commissioner, Mr. Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered a full-scale investigation into the case.
The investigation, the police image maker stressed, was taken to arrest the fleeing suspects and charge them to court soonest.
