Olu Igbein honours Majekodunmi, Sokalu, wife with chieftaincy titles

NIGIERA: AS part of activities marking the coronation anniversary of the Olu of Igbeinland, Oba Festus Oluwole Makinde, three eminent Nigerians will be conferred with chieftaincy titles.
The investiture, which shall prelude the major anniversary, will hold on Saturday, August 25, in the morning at the palatial palace of the first-class monarch along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, opposite Redeemed Christian Church of God camp, Loburu, Ogun State.
According to a news release signed by the king’s spokesperson, Chief ‘Femi Shodunke, the traditional ruler said that Chief Emmanuel Olayiwola Majekodunmi will be installed as the Jaiye Oba while Chief Abiodun Alamu Sokalu would bagged the title of Agbaakin.
The release further said that Chief (Mrs.) Oladunni Ayokunu Sokalu would also become the Yeye Agbaakin of Igbeinland Kingdom.
“The event is expected to be colorful as we intend to celebrate it in grand style to mark the coronation anniversary of Oba Festus Oluwole Makinde, Ojoru Joba, Lisoyi I, who recently marked his 80th birthday, for his meritorious contributions and development of Igbeinland since ascension to the throne,” Shodunke, who is the Baaroyin of Igbeinland, stressed.
The spokesperson also said: “The coronation anniversary is also an opportunity for the new chiefs to celebrate with our Kabiyesi on his elevation to the status of a first class traditional ruler earlier this year by the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun.”
