Mapoly acting Rector charges SUG executive to promote peace

NIGERIA: THE acting Rector of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta in Ogun State, Mr. Ayodeji Tella, has charged members of the newly elected executive of Students’ Union Government (SUG) of the institution to explore all avenues that will promote peaceful co-existence among members of the polytechnic community and the government.
This, Tella in a news release signed by the polytechnic’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Oluyemi Ajibola, told the executive that will run the affairs of the students for the 2017/2018 academic session, should be carried out especially in what they say or do, just as he advised them to be wary of anything that will put their career in jeopardy.
The acting Rector, who gave the charge at the swearing in ceremony, which was attended by other principal officers, and held at the Ramotu Ibironke Babalakin Auditorium of the polytechnic, reiterated the management’s resolve in ensuring quality teaching and learning environment for students of the institution.
Tella congratulated the Directorate, Students’ Affairs, Students’ Union Electoral Committee (SUELECO) and all members of staff and students of the polytechnic for their wonderful efforts and good conducts in the successful conduct of the election.
In his inaugural speech, the Students’ Union President, Comrade Owoiya Rasaq Oluwatobiloba of the Department of Marketing, who expressed appreciation to Tella for his charge, promised to identify and tackle the challenges facing all students on campus in a manner that will not negate the rules and regulations of the polytechnic.
Other elected members of the executive are Okubote Olasubomi Samuel (Vice President), Adeboni Oluwafunmilayo (General Secretary), Adesina Micheal Adebayo (Treasurer), Olaleye Hassan Taiwo (Financial Secretary), Ajasa Adetunji Afeez (Welfare Director), Oyeyemi Adebisi Olasunkanmi (Sports Director), Taiwo Aduragbemi (Public Relations Officer), Oneafolu Chibuike Salas (Assistant General Secretary), and Arikawe Olawale Samuel (Social Director).
