The management of the club explained that the match, which is scheduled for Moshood Abiola International Stadium, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, had not been fixed in favour of the visiting Enugu team.

The Club Public Relations Officer, Babatunde Ayoola told GatewayMail in a telephone interview that there was no iota of truth in the rumour which he described as unfounded.

“It is not possible, it’s impossible,” Ayoola said, adding: “We are not hungry. We brought credibility into Nigeria Premier League.”

He added: “We are talking about players, officials and club career, so it is not possible.”

Ayoola also disclaimed speculations that his team would arrive Sunday (today) as part of the designed plan to sell off the match.

He said: “That is also not correct. We always come to Abeokuta a day before the match. When we played Niger Tornadoes we came a day before the ‎match.

“Ever since we came to Abeokuta, we always come a day before the match and we train on arrival.”
