The award from the Mount Carmel Crusaders International came barely few weeks after Sogbesan, who retired from active business in 2014, obtained First Class degree in Theology at the Bible school.

While expressing joy over the honour, Sogbesan said: “The award is reward from heaven above to a lover of God’s work with dedication. The award will propel me to be more dedicated and diligent to the work of God, especially evangelism.”

According to him, the significance of the award was not only an encouragement, but a clear indication that “someone is watching over what we do, either good or bad and there is reward for both.”

The award, Sogbesan said, was dedicated “to my Lord Jesus Christ and my daughters.”

“The award came as a surprise, but it’s the Lord’s doing and it’s marvelous in my eyes,” he joyfully said, adding: “Glory be to God that gave me the strength and the zeal to do my bit in evangelizing the word of God as commanded by our lord Jesus Christ in Matthew 28:19-20.”

He further said: “The award will, no doubt, propel me to be more dedicated and diligent to the work of God especially evangelism; the significance of the award is to know there is reward for good work in life and in heaven according to 1 Cor. 15:58.

Sogbesan told GatewayMail about his journey into Christendom: “I joined CCC (Celestial Church of Christ) in 1990.  In my first year in CCC, it was prophesised that my call in the fold was to win souls.

“Before I joined CCC, I was a member of The Apostolic Church and a member of evangelism group.  So I wasn’t surprised about the prophecy.  I was lucky to join CCC at a parish that embrace evangelism, that is Ademimo Parish, Akesan, Lagos.”

“I registered as Shepherd immediately I retired from active service in 2014 since then I have been an Assistant Shepherd to many parishes,” Sogbesan further said.

He stressed proudly with joy: “I entered Bible school in 2015 and last month, 23rd September I finished with First Class degree in Theology; glory be to God for that.”

According to him, he is presently at CCC, Emi Jesu Tofunmi Circuit Headquarters, Agunfoye Morekete, Igbogbo, Ikorodu, Lagos as Assistant Shepherd to the Circuit Head, Superintendent Evangelist Ade Kuti.

“As a qualified clergy I’m looking forward to higher responsibility as a shepherd in anywhere in world to evangelize true word of God,” Sogbesan emphasised.
